Canvas is an extremely durable plain – woven fabric used for making sturdy items.
It used to be made from hemp in earlier days but off let made primarily from cotton. Others like linen or synthetic materials can also be used to make Canvas. it’s an entirely different variety of material to that of cotton as it possesses a plain weave rather than a twill weave in cotton material
Canvas is a waterproof fabric with plastic PVC backing & waterproof coating making it resilient & durable. It can be treated easily with chemical processes to improve it’s properties & requires very little maintenance.
They can be washed easily by hand & in washing machines. One can do soft scrubbing after dipping in little warm detergent water to avoid any damage. Avoid getting canvas in contact with very hot water as they tend to shrink. Rinse the cloth to wipe away any residual soap & air drying in shaded place away from direct exposure to sunlight.

- Duck Canvas
Duck is the heaviest grade of canvases & made with twice as much fiber in one direction than in other direction.
